What a find! Our few days there were the most relaxing of our whole three week trip. The Innkeepers, Dick and Carole made us feel like family. Their home is beautiful as well as comfor- table and the food was fabulous! The icing on the cake for us animal lovers were their snuggly kitties. We can't wait to go back again! Acorn B&B is absolutely beautiful. Dick & Caroles hospitality was like a warm hug - as was the delicious breakfast. We loved the little touches throughout, especially the sheets, the flower garland on the windows and the candlelit jucuzzi. We look forward to escaping there again soon. Bruce & Liz

Hi Dick and Carole, Frank and I had a wonderful time at your beautiful bed and breakfast. As you know, it was the first time that we had ever stayed at a B&B since through the years we had always traveled with our children and had stayed at hotels when on the road. Staying at your delightful place with the gracious and friendly atmosphere you have created has brought an entirely new dimension to future travels. Being almost equi-distant between New York City and Boston is also a plus, along with the many attractions along the Connecticut Shoreline from New Haven and the Yale community. What a delightful respite! We look forward to our next visit! Best wishes for a happy 1999!

The representation of the Acorn B&B on this site was accurate, but did not convey the actual serenity or beauty of the property. ad we not wanted to impose, we would have enjoyed spending the entire weekend simply visiting on the patio. We have stayed in several B&Bs, and although all were enjoyable, our weekend in Connecticut will stand out as one of our best travel memories. We will make every effort to return to the Acorn.

Acorn B&B-what a beautiful find in the lower central part of CT! Carole and Richard showed very warm hospitality that was evident throughout our stay. Richard gave us a friendly greeting at the door when we arrived, just as he met us later when we came back from dinner. Lots of nice amenities were enjoyed: complimentary homemade wine enjoyed in front of a roaring fire in the living room on a chilling night, right after we had spent 20 minutes in a 100 degree bubbling whirlpool spa! We enjoyed the beautiful and playful cat Bud. Our room was very comfortable and cozy, with just enough antiques to lend atmosphere, without being too frilly. Breakfast was delicious with pears cooked in maple syrup and currants, freshly-made pumpkin muffins, and shirred eggs with ham steak. We were made to feel like one of the family as we relaxed and chatted in the living room with Richard in front of the fire and with both Richard and Carole and the other guests at breakfast. Good places to eat are nearby. Richard recommended the restaurant at The Inn at Chester, which was great for food and splendid service. Hiking trails are not too far away. Chatfield Hollow State Park is one such place, where we went, with trails for everyone: both challenging and more gentle. There is even a beach there in the warm weather.

Diane from New York City - Carole and Richard were wonderful hosts. The animals (3 adult and 1 kitten) were beautiful and fun to be around (but if you're allergic, they're kept away). The food was sensational. We were stuffed and didn't have to eat until dinner. Any tidbit of information that we needed was supplied by Carole or Richard.
